Bosses - Elden Ring: Nightreign

by Dom's Roundtable

There are 8 Nightlords to challenge in Nightreign, these are the BIG BAD BOSSES you face if you manage to make it to the very end of a match, so far I have only had the opportunity to challenge (and beat) one of them; Gladius, The Beast Of Night. He's the gigantic hellhound with the chained sword on his back you've seen in the trailer who can split himself into 3 equally as terrifying hellhounds, a truly awesome boss.

Before joining a mission you will choose the Nightlord you would like to target, and this will determine some of the features throughout your next mission.

From what we have seen so far the Night 1 and Night 2 bosses seem to be mostly updated bosses from the original Elden Ring. However when I say updated, I mean they have COMPLETELY different movesets, they just happen to look the same. And I'm sure as we get closer to the Network Test and the official release of the game, we'll learn of loads of brand-new bosses as well. We also got to fight the iconic Centipede Demon from Dark Souls 1, that was such a treat!

A side note to really hit home how epic the fights in this game are, don't forget that it was, after all, directed by the lead designer of the combat system for Elden Ring, Junya Ishizaki, and it shows!

A few more of the Night bosses we encountered include;

  • A Demi-Human Queen & Demi-Human Swordmaster Duo

  • A souped-up version of Morgott, a new Fell Omen boss

  • A super powered Draconic Tree Sentinel, accompanied by two Royal Knights, and these were POWERFUL knights, it was effectively a trio boss.

The variety of bosses and all of the new moves that they all have is a sight to behold. It's really, really cool. You will go into some of these bosses overconfident, and you'll be like, oh, yeah. I know how to dodge all of Morgott's attacks. You're not fighting Morgott, my friend. This boss is so much more terrifying.
